PLC - Introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers
Online-Version

PLCs are the professional control technology used in production and automation. Nowadays, no motor vehicle leaves the factory if the PLC fails. Even in small applications in the private sector, PLCs control stairwell lighting or passenger lifts. What is the difference to classic automation technology? How is a PLC programmed? This learning programme teaches the basics of professional PLC use.

From the basics of binary control systems and control types (VPS, PLC) to logical signals, basic functions and combinational circuits, all important basic concepts in the field of PLCs are explained. After covering memory, RS flip-flops and combinational circuits with flip-flops, the functionality of digital counters is presented in a multimedia-based and clear manner. Learners discover how advanced functions can be solved with a PLC. Numerous exercises facilitate the review of the material learned.
